Book Submission Bootcamp is a three-week program designed for writers ready to submit their memoirs or novels for publication. With a focus on community, the Book Submission Bootcamp provides feedback, support, and guidance for writers ready to take on the challenging process of getting their work out in the world.
Whether your goal is to query agents or small publishers, by working together and receiving advice from a professional submission coach, we can help each other maximize our chances of success.

How Our Book Submission Bootcamp Works
PART I: Creating the Submission Package and Plan (Three Sessions)
Meeting weekly over three sessions, we will develop our submission package, drafting, revising, and workshopping our query letters. We will also revise our synopses and polish our opening pages, based on genre best practices. Our shared goal is to make our submission packages professional and the best representation of our work they can be. We will also be creating a submission plan, creating lists of agents and/or small publishers that we’d like to target.
PART II: Submission Package Reviews (One-on-One)
Professional evaluation of submission packages, which includes a query letter along with the first 10 pages or chapter of your manuscript as well as a 1-2 page synopsis (optional). The Submission Package Review, includes a 30-minute phone consultation with advice about the submission package.
Are You a Good Fit for Our Book Submission Bootcamp?
To participate in the Book Submission Bootcamp you should:
- Have a completed (or near complete) memoir or novel you intend to send out to be considered for publication, that’s ready now or will be after a few more revisions.
- Be open and interested in creating a viable plan and sustainable practice to submit your work.
- Be eager to support, encourage, and provide useful, positive feedback to fellow participant.
Program Details
Cost: $350*
Tuition can be paid in full or in two increments according to our payment schedule. NOTE: Your registration will not be considered complete until your payment, payment plan, or scholarship seat has been confirmed.

Meet Sofia Lesko, Our Submission Coach
A graduate of the Columbia Publishing Course, Sofia Lesko has held a handful of immersive roles in the publishing industry. From working as an assistant to a #1 New York Times bestselling author, to assisting with licensing at an IP management firm, and finally as a freelance agent assistant, Sofia is now finishing her first year at New York Law School. With plans to study intellectual property and copyright law, she will re-enter the media and publishing world as a lawyer. A writer herself, Sofia has had the unique opportunity to view an agent’s submission inbox from both sides of the desk. She currently lives in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
