Shanda McManus is a family medicine physician. Her writing has been featured in Intima Journal of Narrative Medicine, Midnight & Indigo, and other publications. She writes about the intersection of life, race, and medicine. When Shanda is not seeing patients or writing she binge reads and rides a bike that goes nowhere. She lives in Fair Haven, NJ with her husband and their five children. Shanda is currently working on a memoir, Missing Pieces, that explores her childhood experiences growing up in Philadelphia beneath the shadow of her parents marital discord and her mother’s terminal illness.
