Biography
Shanda McManus, a family medicine physician and native Philadelphian, writes about the intersection of life, race, and medicine. Her writing has appeared in Intima Journal of Narrative Medicine, Midnight & Indigo, Bellevue Literary Review, and swamp pink. Shanda has been a fellow with PEN America Emerging Voices in Creative Nonfiction and Baldwin For The Arts. Her debut memoir, Brother Epistles, is coming in June 2026 from Split Lip Press.
